Wear and tear, change, deterioration and decay inform the current work.  In the geological sense where changes are brought about by the elements over the millennia, and effects on the environment caused by social and economic changes together with man’s changing attitudes to the natural world over the years.  The paintings try to express feelings of history being built up layer upon layer:  some traces clearly visible, some half seen, some to be discovered, and some lost forever, such as the overlaying of tracks with roads, roads with highways, and the pastoral with the urban.
